We are pleased that COVID-19 cases are declining in Oregon; however, we must remain vigilant as the virus is still widespread throughout the state. Masking is optional. If your student tests positive, please call your student’s school to let them know. Families will be alerted to positive cases via ParentSquare only if a cohort or school is experiencing high transmission.
Did Your Student Test Positive?
In order to keep our student population healthy, we expect families with students who test positive for COVID-19 to follow this guidance from Oregon Health Authority.
Students with primary symptoms (cough, fever of 100.4 or greater, difficulty breathing/shortness of breath, or loss of taste of smell) are excluded from school and may return after 5 days if they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine and other symptoms have improved. It’s recommended that individuals should wear a well-fitting mask around others at home and in public, including at school, for 5 additional days (Day 6-10) after the end of the required 5-day isolation period. Those who are unable to wear a properly fitted mask are advised to stay home on Days 6-10 before returning to school.
Too Sick for School?
It’s normal for children to get sick from time to time, and home is the best place for them to recover. Below are some guidelines to help you make the decision about when to keep your child home from school. Please help us ensure that those who attend our schools and work in them remain as healthy as possible.Eng Too Sick for School Guidance
